Paving The Way

2nd day

2nd day of Paving the Way

Ok, so maybe it IS me with the gassy stomach, but who could blame me with such good food and I mean GOOD! We were treated by a family of angels disguised as workers in a refurbished firehouse to a gourmet dinner (maybe it was the spinach covered chicken?). I’m sure we’ll not see another meal to its equal again along the route. But today was an awesome day from the moment we woke up to another sunny day to a powerful church service at an Episcopalian Church (Grace Van Vorst) to the trek through Newark-we really rocked them with our newest chant too-to the daily video diary of all our members. I am not looking forward to leaving, honestly. Nitey nite!! 11:05pm

Paving The Way

Paving the way.

Today is the 2nd day of the march and it was very cold and windy. I was walking through the streets of jersey city and holding the american flag with pride when a strong wind came and snap the flag stick in half I was stuned so I picked the flag up and continued to hold the flag with pride. I have learned today that in every struggle there are challenges and we over come challenges by dealing with them.

Paving The Way

!st night

Tonight we laughed ourselves to sleep. There was so many jokes and all
around great fun. It was diffcult to sleep because my air mattress
started to deflate and Jennifer steele said I looked like I was in a
canoe, she laughed for a good five mins. Then followed by Amy's(Giron)
comment that I looked like a "slave in the bayou", just because I had a
scarf on my head. I really did look like a slave!!! She then
questioned why I was wearing a scarf and I had to go into a whole spiel
about Black hair which she found fascinating. Then she started looking
at my hair prodcuts with awe and said she would start to use them from
now on. Well anyways, I am having a blast and these people are
great!!! So far the trip has been AMAZING!!!!
